With a background in farming throughout Scotland May and Grant Montgomery ran the Brown Egg Farm in Inchinnan for over 20 years and had many happy times growing their small poultry and farm shop business while bringing up daughters Sara and Sue. So when the Montys found Ardardan Estate in 1996 in a state of disrepair after being left derelict for over 15 years they saw a great opportunity. With a lot of ambition, ideas and courage of their convictions The Montys set about bringing Ardardan Estate back to life.
At the time Grant and May Montgomery found Ardardan, daughters Sara and Sue were studying, travelling and working elsewhere. Having grown up being part of the Brown Egg Farm working together had simply been a way of life and so the passion to work and achieve as a family brought Sara and Sue to the business. And now with a team of over 40 brilliant local people Sara & Sue run Ardardan Farm Deli, Gift Shop, Tearoom and newest addition to the Estate Monty’s Family Farm Park.
As a family we are extremely privileged to be able to live and work together in such a bonnie part of the world at Ardardan. We are beyond proud to be able to promote our part of the world and do so alongside our brilliant team of local people. We are delighted to be able to share our unique farm experience at Ardardan with our lovely visitors from the local community and further afield.

Whether it be for advice on cheese in the Farm Shop, which cake to go for in the tearoom, which compost to use or which variety of shrub will suit your garden there is always a member of our brilliant Ardardan team on hand to answer any questions, give advice or just have a wee chat! We believe if we don’t know an answer there is always someone we can find who does!
